Here is my perfect Drinkwell Fountain and it works great. I just won't use it! It's cool. It's clean. It's pretty quiet. It's good tasting water (when I lick it from mom's fingers.
I approached the fountain very cautiously, wondering what this new thing was around my stinky goodness and my crunchies!
My mom thought I was actually going to use it when I got this close to the fountain. However, she was disappointed again. I just walk around it and look at it. 
Mom asked me to ask for help from the CB for ways to encourage me to drink out of this fountain. She said that if I don't begin using it this weekend, she may just auction it on the CB, so some kitty or kitties who like running water can use it. Mom says, "Please help!"
I say, "you can have it, I don't want it!"
Mom - Just look at that little determined, pouty face!
I found this extra definition of Diva and right now, I think it fits Praline perfectly!

Mummy got one of these last year as I needed to increase my water intake after I got crystals in my bladder.
Like you, I had zero interest in drinking from it, so Mummy had to sell it. It's much more fun drinking water from the toilet or shower!

Wizard loved to drink out of the faucet when it was running, but he would not drink out of the fountain. We are going to try again with Angel and Kirby. I don't have any suggestions for you as We failed too!

Seems likes you might need to get use to it but I am not sure you will attempt to use it if you don't likes it. I wonders if it is the flowing stream that bothers you.
Sammy would go crazy for that!! He loves drinking water out of the faucet & when Mama refills our water bottle ( 2 litre) & turns it over to fill the bowl, Sammy has to be the first one there. He drinks the water as it runs into the bowl.

I dunno Praline, it looks a bit suspicious to me. I'm sorry your mum spent her hard earned money on it though.

awww, Praline! you coul dat least TRY to do it, just to please your momma? maybe if she put some meat flavouring in it, it would be like a beef fountain?? Would you like it then?
Do you like kitty wheatgrass? If so, your mommy can get one of those hook-on planters. Maybe if you get close enough to eat the grass then you won't be scared to taste the water?
We want to get one of those, but Carbon fishes in the water bowl so he would splash all that around.
Sorry, we don't have any suggestions for you as we loved ours right away.

Hmm We have a bowl that is kind of like that, and it bubbles. You can turn the bubbling off, and to different levels of bubbling. Do you think if it is unplugged, and the fountain part isn't on, you might try to get used to the bowl itself? Then maybe if you aren't scared of the bowl your Mommy can turn it back on?
We have no clue how to help as our Momma is too cheap to get us one. It looks fun though, Praline, just give it a chance. :)

We've got no suggestions because we know we would love it. We like to drink our water running from the tap.
Give it a bit of time, we're sure that you will grow to like the fountain. Tell your mom to stop trying, let her just ignore the fountain and you will surely drink.

Mom keeps our water dishes seperately from the food dishes as she read that would be better. But surely your normal water dish was there too, so it can't be that...

It took us a while to get used to ours - Tamir was afraid of it! We all drink from it now and love it. Ours water goes down a little slide and is pretty quiet. Tamir still has to put his big paws in it to see where the water is!!

How long have you had it for?
Maybe it makes noise that scares you (we have no idea how loud it is)- maybe if Mom turned it off until you got used to drinking out of it like a regular bowl you would be OK with it?
My mom said that she got one for our gang before I was born...but it got clogged up with all of our fur because some kitties just can't drink it, they got to play in it too. Now we just beg at the faucet and mom is our own personal drinkwell.
We think it would make a great toy for playing in, but not drinking out of. We wants our sink waters!

The Woman did this to us last year. Like you we refused. Sadly, when there was nowhere else to drink from after a few days we all gave in. Its cool, the water really does taste better.

Uh, Praline, we suggest you try to adjust or your mom just might auction off you instead. Can you just try it?
Maybe you could try turning the fountain part off (unplug it), and see if you can get used to drinking from the still water. Then, turn it back on, but with the flow adjusted to the lowest level. Good luck!
Oh Praline, you make me giggle with your "Diva-ness"! Maybe Mommy Paula could try the unplugging idea? I looked at one too, but my husband said it was too many green papers. Toeshee would probably be the only one to use it anyway. Billie hates anything new. It took her two days to use her pretty new water bowls!
Give it a try Praline. It is very fancy and doesn't a beautiful girl like you deserve something fancy? ;) (did that work mommy Paula?)

We started out with the first Drinkwell....there is always one of us who will try a new thing then the others will follow. It might take a few days but you will really like it Praline. We now have the Platinum model too and love it! Oh, let your Mom know to keep a check for furs clogging the intake grill.....Mommy learned the hard way when it overflowed.{{giggle}}=^Y^=Toy

Scylla sounds like a diva too.
Mommy says try acting like you don't want her to drink out of it. We drinks out of the solar fountain which annoys Mommy no end as it means she has to clean it by hand instead of putting the stuff in there to keep algae from growing in the first place. We also drink out of Fenris' water bowl but Mommy doesn't care about that. It has running water but it comes in the bottom. ~S,S,C & F
We do not have a fountain so we have no advice. We might be afraid of it too,heehee Daisy has a great idea though :) We just love your pouty face :) You are always so pretty!!!!!

Oh, Praline, you must give it a try! I won one on the Cat Blogosphere and I not only drink out of it, I take a shower in it! I love to stick my head under the flowing water stream! But I'm told I'm weird.
I bet if your mom leaves it unplugged for awhile so there's no fountain, then turns the fountain stream as low as it will go, you'll get used to it eventually.

mommeh saz her haz been wantin to git us one of dem. But we finks yoo will get used to it ventually. When mommeh changed our water bowl, her always takes her fingers, dips in waters while we watch and puts on our noses and we licks it off. Sometimes, seeing her with her fingers in the water, we would go over to it and drink!

I am always proud of another cat who will not use something that a human spent money on. However we have no good ideas about the fountain except maybe time...
Mom turned ours off until we started drinking from da bowl...den she turned it down on low. Now it hasta be really flowing cuz Speedy likes to drink right outta da fountain part and Sadie likes to stick her paw in da running water and wash dem off!
