Bringing in the New Year

What better way to bring in the new year than to eat kitty party mix . . .

and lie on mom's lap waiting for the New Year!

When's the ball going to drop, Mom?

Wordless Wednesday (almost) - Baby Praline

With the boybean nephew, Russell, 14 years ago.

Here is a picture of Russell at 26 years of age at Christmas!
One of us has aged!

Good-bye Sweet Friend

One of my mom's dearest friends had to help send her lovely kitty, Allie, to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday because of kidney failure.  Many of you may remember when I posted about Allie in July.  Allie didn't have a CB post, but you can leave comments for her mom Katie on my blog and we will forward them to her.  Katie used to kittysit me when I was a baby and my mom had to travel out of town.  My mom and I were a little sad yesterday because of mom's shoulder pain and the loss of this special kitty.

We'll miss you, Sweet Allie.

Pee ess - My mom didn't injure her shoulder, she just aggravated it.  The PT said she just needed to back up a little bit and take it easy.  She is still in pain, so keep those purrs coming.

Nurse Praline

I think I need to keep a better eye on my mom.  She started driving again on Friday and yesterday, she did something to her shoulder.  She said there was a sharp pain when she accidentally used her right arm to turn the steering wheel to the left.  She has a physical therapy appointment this morning and will have them check it out.

I think it's time to put back on the Nurse Praline outfit.  Maybe this will help.

Easy Like Sunday

Taking it easy on Mom's lap!

The Day After Christmas

I received my Secret Paws package on Christmas Eve and Mom let me open it Christmas.  You can read all about my Secret Paws package here.  My secret kitty was none other than Billy Sweetfeets from the Meezer Tails.  For Christmas, Billy was given his own website for his dancing songs.  You simply must visit it.

I received the nicest presents from Billy and after investigating everything, I was exhausted!  I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas.

Pee ess - Shhhhhhhhh!  Please don't tell anyone, but mom isn't supposed to be picking me up yet and all of you will notice that she was holding me in yesterday's picture.  She tried to lift me with her left arm and was only able to hold me for one picture.  That's why you only see part of her face!  Hee! Hee!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas from Sweet Praline
Mom Paula.

Christmas Eve

It's almost time for Santy Paws (Santa Claus) to come visit.  I've tried to be a really good ladycat, but sometimes I just can't help myself.  Mom woke up to me chewing on the tree again yesterday and she also caught me with my head in the bag of goodies for me.  I think if I had to wait one more day, I might get coal in my stocking.

What time is the man in the red suit supposed to get here, Mom?

Toesie Tuesday

Nothing like a good s-t-r-e-t-c-h to get my toesies in shape!

Now, to see what I can get into today!!!

Just kidding, I know the man in red will be here in just a few more days!

Christmas Week Begins

It's the beginning of Christmas week!  Are you ready?  I am!  I have my decorations up, the presents bought and wrapped, and am settling in for a winter's nap with Mom.

Also, this weekend Zoolatry featured me with three of my favorite Mancats on the Advent Calendar.  Meet Ginger Jasper, Romeo, and Bhu.  Now, that's my kind of Mancat Monday!!!

Easy Like Sunday

I've been taking care of my Mom for two weeks now while she recuperates from her shoulder surgery.  I've never been a lap kitty, preferring to nap beside her on the couch.  However, I've decided that my mom really needed more TLC since she has been in pain and I'll actually lie down on her lap.

Then, I'll put my head down and take a little nap.  I think this has been a very pleasant surprise to my Mom.  The biggest surprise is that I think I actually like this.  What have I been missing for 14 years?

Mom Paula - This newest thing that Praline has done during the past two weeks has been very surprising, but also very comforting.  I don't dare move when she jumps into my lap and snuggles in like she is in the above pictures.  The purring then begins and the relaxation is wonderful.

Photo Hunt - Fast

Today's Photo Hunt theme is "fast".  I went back to my younger days to show you how fast Baby Praline (Pralinette) was.  I was so fast, I was a blur on the camera!

But, look at me now.  I still have the graceful moves and can move pretty fast as a senior ladycat!  I still have the moves, don't I?

Friends Friday

I have three new furriends that I wanted to introduce to you today.

Please meet Calle, Halle, and Sukki.  They are Balinese and Siamese kitties with beautiful blue eyes.  Their mom Jacqueline notified my mom that they like to visit my blog, but that they didn't have a blog.  I think the CB should encourage them to join us so we can keep us with these lovely ladies.

This week, to my surprise, I received a package from Calle, Halle, and Sukki.  They included this lovely Christmas portrait.

My package included a stocking and bag full of wonderful toys, a large bag of Temptations, and a kitty notepad for my mom.  Mom is only letting me play with one toy at a time!

Thank you Calle, Halle, Sukki and Mom Jacqueline!

Naughty Kitty Club

Charter member of the Naughty Kitty Club  Mom said since she caught me nomming on the Christmas tree, she would let me be a member.  It's hard being naughty while mom is home recuperating from her surgery.

Munching on the Christmas Tree

I thought my Mom was asleep when I decided to take a bite of the Christmas tree.  The next thing I knew, the flashy box went off and she clapped her hands (I didn't think she could do that with her shoulder) and yelled ,"No!"  I just wanted to see what it tasted like.  I think the problem is that the tree is fake.

Easy Like Sunday

Whew!  I'm worn out after taking care of my Mom this week.  I think I'll take it easy today.

Christmas Roses

My mom received these roses from her Uncle Bill and she told me she would share them with me for my Gotcha Day (yesterday).  I think they go beautifully with the Christmas plates and my beautifu floof.

Gotcha Day!

Today is my 14th Gotcha Day!  I came to live with my mom at 12 weeks of age as a very floofy baby Praline.  My mom was going through a divorce and had just started working on her Ph.D.  We've had some very challenging times during those 14 years, but I wouldn't give up one day of the time I've had with my Mom.

Thank you, Ann of Zoolatry

My Mom got me a whole box of my special prescription Stewart Fiber Formula Cat Treats for my Gotcha Day.  I've been on these for over 10 years and they really do help with the furballs.  She has now found how to order these online, so she doesn't have to go to the vet all of the time to get them for me.  I can have up to 20 of these at one time.  Isn't that great?

I also received a surprise package from Sniffie and the Florida Furkids this week.  It was Da Bird and it came from Baby Patches' store, Supplies Just4Pets.  Sniffie said she wanted to sent it to me "just because", but I'm convinced that a little bird told her it was my Gotcha Day this week.  Thanks, Sniffie!

This is fun!  Who wants to come over and play with me?

I'm really glad I got my mom on December 11, 1995!

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful there are now presents under my Christmas tree!  Tomorrow is my Gotcha Day and Mom promises that she has a present for me!

My Cat

My cat walks slowly through the house,
measuring each step,
examining the nooks and crannys,
and I can almost visualize,
the crown of diamonds on her head,
the purple velvet cape
trimmed with ermine
trailing behind her.

When I call her name,
she lifts her tail
in acknowledgment,
telling me she heard me
but continuing her noble walk.

When she naps on my chest
and gives me a lick,
I feel privileged indeed
to share my life
with a cat.

Still Searching

There are still no presents for me (or anyone, for that matter) under my Christmas Tree!  I wonder where Mom hid everything . . .

Pee ess - Thanks for asking about mom.  She came through her shoulder surgery fine and had her first physical therapy appointment yesterday.  She's pretty sore, but they think everything is going to be fine!

Peeking Under the Tree

I'm trying to sneak a peek under the Christmas tree with a special furriend today!  I know there must be some presents for me under here somewhere and with the help of my curly furriend, we can find them.

My furriend is at the bridge now, but he has a special place in all of our hearts.  Please take a moment and drop by and give his mom some special purrs!

Photo Hunt - Curved

Today's Photo Hunt theme is curved.  There are a lot of curves in our dining room chairs!

Mom says my little rounded body has a lot of curves, too!

Floofy Friday

It's Floofy Friday time again!

Mailing Christmas Cards

Thanks to my careful snoopervising, the Christmas cards and the Secret Paws gift are in the mail.

Mom is running around like crazy trying to get everything done before her surgery tomorrow.  I want to thank all of my furriends that have still been visiting even though we haven't been able to visit much lately.  Mom is going to try to post a week in advance in case she is "out of it" for a few days.  However, if you don't see me for a few days, don't worry, I'll be back!

Pee ess - A very special thank you to Ann of Zoolatry for my Christmas Header!

A Praline for Sweet Praline

Mom brought back this praline and let me, Sweet Praline, check it out.  I don't know why my mom goes to crazy over these things.  They are very sweet and loaded with pecans and you can't find them just anywhere, and to be just purrfect, you must get them when they are fresh.  For some reason, Mom named me after this sweet confection.  Can you guess why?

Mom let me sniff it and even though it smelled sweet and tasty (for the beans),  prefer my Temptations.  I think I'll just sit here and watch mom make those funny faces when she eats them.

Not Again!

Oh no! She did it again! Mom has been visiting friends and relatives the past few days and just when I think she can't surprise me, she betrays me again!

This is how Mom spent the day on Sunday, visiting my woofie cousins, Sydney and Foster. You may remember that they are both Australian Shepards, except Sydney is a minature and Foster is a standard. I guess that are okay for woofies. Mom did come home to me and give me scritches and treats. She even offered me some turkey, but I turned up my nose at it.
