A few weeks ago after coming home from Auntie Deb's and the Taylor Catsssss, I went through a major depression again. Auntie Deb's family was so loving and the Taylor Catsssss kept me amused and I had a kitty in my lap every time I sat down. I believe when I got home, I realized how lonely it was in my house without Sweet Praline. I was crying every day at any hour during the day at the "drop of a hat." It was during this time that Sweet Praline's spirit appeared to me.
I was sitting on my couch with tears streaming down my face, missing Sweet Praline one night. I thought I saw a movement from the corner of the hallway coming into my living room where Praline would always stop before coming in to sit with me. I looked over at the hallway and Praline was standing there, as clear as could be, for a few seconds!!! Then she was gone. It was as if she were telling me that she was still here and that everything would be okay. I always heard people talk about literally "seeing" past relatives or pets after they were gone, but I experienced it first hand. Terri told me that I was so lucky to have that special connection with Sweet Praline.
Praline at the corner of the hallway
When God Created Kitty Cats
When God created kitty cats,
He had no recipe;
He knew He wanted something sweet,
As sweet as sweet could be.
He had no recipe;
He knew He wanted something sweet,
As sweet as sweet could be.
He started out with sugar,
Adding just a trace of spice;
Then stirred in drops of morning dew,
To keep them fresh and nice.
Adding just a trace of spice;
Then stirred in drops of morning dew,
To keep them fresh and nice.
He thought cats should be soft to pet,
Thus He gave them coats of fur;
So they could show they were content,
He taught them how to purr.
Thus He gave them coats of fur;
So they could show they were content,
He taught them how to purr.
He made for them long tails to wave,
While strutting down the walk;
Then trained them in meow-ology,
So they could do cat-talk.
While strutting down the walk;
Then trained them in meow-ology,
So they could do cat-talk.
He made them into acrobats,
And gave them grace and poise;
Their wide-eyed curiosity,
He took from little boys.
And gave them grace and poise;
Their wide-eyed curiosity,
He took from little boys.
He put whiskers on their faces,
Gave them tiny ears for caps;
Then shaped their little bodies,
To snugly fit on laps.
Gave them tiny ears for caps;
Then shaped their little bodies,
To snugly fit on laps.
He gave them eyes as big as saucers,
To look into man's soul;
Then set a tolerance for mankind,
As their purpose and their goal.
To look into man's soul;
Then set a tolerance for mankind,
As their purpose and their goal.
Benevolent ... and ... generous,
He made so many of them;
Then charged, with Fatherly Concern,
The human race to love them.
He made so many of them;
Then charged, with Fatherly Concern,
The human race to love them.
When one jumped up upon His lap,
God gently stroked its head;
The cat gave Him a kitty kiss,
"What wondrous love," God said.
God gently stroked its head;
The cat gave Him a kitty kiss,
"What wondrous love," God said.
God smiled at His accomplishment,
So pleased with His creation;
And said, with pride, as He sat back,
"At last. . . I've reached purr-fection!"
So pleased with His creation;
And said, with pride, as He sat back,
"At last. . . I've reached purr-fection!"
Sweet Praline will always be a part of my heart and soul. I love you, my little Diva!

What a beautiful tribute. Mommy's eyes are leaking again. Btw, we started our blog because of Praline. xoxo
Of course Praline will always be with you, and I know she will be nearby Truffle and Beignet also.
Oh my gosh!! Tears are running down our faces!! What a beautiful tribute to Sweet Praline!!
(((((HUGGGSSS())))) from your TX furiends,
That is so special that Praline came to visit you to let you know all was well. Mom's first greyhound did that too. He came to her and gave her a lick, and Mom said she had the most profound feeling of peace afterwards.

What a wonderful story! Mama has felt past kitties, too. When she lost her first kitty she could still feel her jump on the bed and lie down. Praline will always be with you!
What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful ladycat. She is always with you, just like Sniffie is always with us.

Your post makes me cry, Paula. I can't say I've ever seen Chumley or Annie, and I really don't know what's beyond this life, if anything. But you were blessed to have had that moment and I certainly know she's with you in heart and spirit.
Happy World Cat Day to you.
Kim
Our Mommy believes it's very possible to see your cats, especially when you share a bond as special as you and Praline! We miss her very much but we know she will always be with you and your two new little kittens!
That was such a beautiful and loving tribute to Sweet Praline. I do believe she was telling you it was okay. I've seen my late brother Ivan several times, we all have. Happy World Cat Day!
Gosh, I can't tell you how good it is to see pictures of Sweet Praline again. Love that poem too. Great stuff.
By the way, the link on the Cat Blogospere to get here to Sweet Praline is wrong. Too many pppps. LOL.
Glad Praline came to see you for a moment. Take care.
That is an extra special post for World Cat Day. And we believe you will see Sweet Praline again someday...
Sweet Praline is always there in spirit with you but she will know when you need extra comfort and let you catch a glimpse as she checks on you again. She will also be a "fairy godmother" to Truffle and Beignet too and give them a guiding paw.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Your bond with Praline was so strong, we are so comforted knowing that she's still very much with you and watching over you and the 2 new babies.
Purrs,
Cory and family
Pretty soon you'll have your arms full of kitty fuzz. Are you planning on raising some more kitties (since you are getting both a boy and girl)?

This is a beautiful tribute to Praline.Mum has never seen any of the cats who went before, but after her cat Marmi died, she often heard him walk across the floor and felt him jump on the bed. She had no other cats back then so she knew it was him.
This is such a beautiful post.
You'll still cry for Praline after the kittens arrive but they will help with the loneliness.
Beautiful post and of course she led you to the dessert twins!
Sweet Praline holds some fond memories in many of our hearts. We look forward to meeting the little floofy fur babies.
P.S. - nice to meet you on Sunday Miss Paula!
We had to come back because mom wanted you to know that when our beloved Maggie left for The Bridge (before momma Ellie and I were adopted)...the whole family was devastated. The evening after she left us...all the kitties and our woofie Colby gathered at the base of our stairs and stared at the same spot in the air...they just quietly gathered like they could see her. Mom and dad couldn't see her but they knew it was Maggie. Everyone said their goodbyes and then she was gone.
Those kitties will be so lucky to be loved as much as you are going to love them.

What a blessing and a comfort Paula!
I am so happy Sweet Praline came to visit with you. She will always be there with you and visible to you when she needs to be. Oh, I believe too that she had a paw in bringing those beautiful babies into your life. What fun the two of you will have raising them. Hugs and nose kisses
We miss Sweet P very much, too. xxoo Patty & Bhu
It seems such a blessing and honor now to know that I had the privilege of drawing Sweet Praline last year.
The beautiful poem and the wonderful video on the previous post brought tears to my eyes...
(I too had a vision of a sweet kitty named Jason right before he crossed over to be with his best friend and love, A-One, a beautiful white kitty who left too soon from kidney failure.)
We will miss you dear Praline.
Purrz and Prayers,
Katie.
