Then, I'll put my head down and take a little nap. I think this has been a very pleasant surprise to my Mom. The biggest surprise is that I think I actually like this. What have I been missing for 14 years?

Easy Like Sunday
I've been taking care of my Mom for two weeks now while she recuperates from her shoulder surgery. I've never been a lap kitty, preferring to nap beside her on the couch. However, I've decided that my mom really needed more TLC since she has been in pain and I'll actually lie down on her lap.
Mom Paula - This newest thing that Praline has done during the past two weeks has been very surprising, but also very comforting. I don't dare move when she jumps into my lap and snuggles in like she is in the above pictures. The purring then begins and the relaxation is wonderful.

Sometimes it is more important to wait for just the right moment to snuggle--so they know it is really special.

same thing with hansel. if you move at all, he leaves you. so i find myself keeping insanely still and not moving at all if he's there because i like him snuggling on my lap.
What a wonderful turn of events for Praline and for mama! It's true, she must have discovered that she really likes it. It was her kitty empathy that drew her there to begin with. I'm sure her energy is very healing, too!
That's how I do it too, nice and toasty too. Hope Mom Paula gets all better soon.
