Operating System Missing . . .
This is the message Mom saw on her new laptop when she went to set up my post this morning. Needless to say, she was on the phone with Dell for almost 2 hours and the end result was she had to reload the operating system! She's lost all of the programs and pictures that were on the hard drive. Luckily, she thinks the files are online through Data Safe, but Dell recommended she upgrade to Windows 7. She'll have to wait for it to come in this week and install it, then try to reclaim the files from Data Safe. Wish us luck!

You must encourage your Mommy, and I know you will make her feel alright. That is what I do when Mommy's computer is feeling poorly, and she is frustrated.

Good luck! That does not sound like a good thing. We have an extra Win 7 (due to the fact that we need to upgrade the Woman's computer to Snow Leopard before Boot Camp will run Win 7) but it won't get there before the one you ordered would...

Blimmin' heck! I've been reading about so many cat bloggers having problems with their PCs lately. Never have this kind of problem on a Mac!

Oh no! We hope your mum can get all her files. Mum thinks she backs everything up, but since her computer died last year, every now and again she can't find a file she wants, so she must have missed a few things.
Oh, dear. We didn't have the same thing happen but your mom's OS is probably retired and vacationing in Hawaii with ours, the one we lost just a month or so ago.
Oh No! We hope your Mom can recover her programs and pictures.

Oh Praline, we are so sorry. Under no circumstances should anyone EVER install Windows...there are much safer operating systems like Ubuntu.
That's the thing with operating systems. If you don't close all windows, they fly away.
We hope the next version is called boomerang, than at least you know it will come back.

Temperamental computers are a terrible thing. We hope it all works out. The DataSafe sounds like a wise idea. So far so good at our house with Macs. Hope it stays that way.
