Mom tried to get me to wear a shirt or hat, like Daisy does, but I put my paw down and said "No way!" I did agree to pose in front of the official Gamecock Block C.
Mom is another story! She loves to dress up for the game. This is a picture from last year when ESPN's College Game Day came to South Carolina. I guess this means that Mom will be home really late Thursday night!
The South Carolina Gamecocks open their 115th season of intercollegiate football, dating back to 1892, and the 2008 season at home against the NC State Wolfpack on Thursday, Aug. 28 in front of an ESPN national-television audience. This is the 102nd-consecutive year in which South Carolina has competed on the gridiron. The University did not field a team in either 1893 or 1906. Carolina owns an all-time record of 521-523-44. This is the third time in the last four years that the Gamecocks have opened their season on ESPN.

Gamecock? Sounds like chick-hen! In fact that football does look a bit like a chick-hen.
Our Grampy loves football, but doesn't watch too much collegiate - mostly just the NE Patriots.

Praline, we hope your Mom can make the game, but she does need to be really careful with her hurt footie, so maybe a wheelchair or crutches would be a good idea. We don't think we'd like to dress up either ... that is why we all love Daisy so much, she loves it and is a kitty fashion icon! We hope the Gamecocks win, and please tell your Mom to be easy on that footie!

Praline - We don't watch too much footballs here at our house. Crazy Lady went very briefly to UGA, but doesn't care too much about their games. But, she spent most of her college years and she and D.C. both graduated from GA State and they're supposed to get their first footballs team next fall. Maybe they'll watch more of it then! Hope your team wins the footballs!!

Yes, your Mom should have some fun watching her team. :) I'm sure you will get lots of attention when she gets home. After she comes home and feeds you your favorite food you must sit on her and make her rest Praline! :)
