Horoscope Week - Mars and Jupiter

Update:  I'm home from the vet.  She said I was so good that she didn't even need to sedate me to take out the stitches!  Thanks for your purrs.

Today's planets in my horoscope reading are Mars and Jupiter.

Mars

Mars shows how Sweet Praline expresses her energy and enthusiasm for life. Mars gives passion and vitality to the place in the astrology chart where it is located.

Mars in Scorpio:

Jupiter

Horoscope Week - Venus

Today's focus is on "Venus."  Mom says this section really is me!  I hope you are enjoying my reading.  I know it's a little long, but I didn't want to leave anything out.

Venus

Venus shows us how sociable Sweet Praline can be. It gives us a clue as to what she is attracted to. This can range from inanimate objects to objects of desire. The drive to help those in need is strong and gives Sweet Praline a feeling of belonging. This is one feline who you might consider bringing other animals to for nursing purposes. Sweet Praline will treat other species equally well and this can includes squirrels, rabbits or you. Give Sweet Praline a chance to show her affection by providing some lap time. She knows this is helping you to relax.

Horoscope Week - Mercury

Today's focus of my horoscope is on Mercury.  Karen, the Monkeys' mom, did a lot of work on my reading.  There are several more sections that I am going to share with you each day of this week.

Mercury

Mercury, the planet of communications, suggests how felines communicate with us. There are many different forms of communication besides meowing. Body language will also give us clues into what our cats want. But their most important form of communication is reflected in their ability to send messages telepathically. Some cats are better at this than others but equally important is our receptiveness to such information. We all know how Sweet Praline can get her point across when she wants to. Now learn what you can do to facilitate greater sensitivity to what it is your cat has to say.

Mercury in Libra:
Sweet Praline has an uncanny ability to express herself either directly or telepathically. Poised, without tendency to skittishness, Sweet Praline finds a fine balance within the community of the household. Not given towards turf wars, she likes to see that things are divided equally. Sweet Praline will do most anything to see that her partners in life are happy. She is content to be looked upon as a creature of beauty. Provide Sweet Praline with her own mirror above her bed.

Mercury Conjunct Moon:
More tuned to your psyche than most. This perhaps is one of the most sensitive cats you've ever owned. Don't raise your voice to Sweet Praline or you'll be setting her up for a week of digestive disturbance. She is not fond of loud noises or disruption in home life. Communication without words provides the special understanding that only human and feline can share.

Mercury Square Neptune:
Sweet Praline's imagination works overtime trying to discover demons that aren't there. Although never abused, Sweet Praline may still act skittish and shy from strangers. You're lucky if she lets you touch her. Any previous deception is recalled, giving Sweet Praline a mistrusting personality. You will have to earn respect from this feline before any relationship can be formed.

Praline's special friend, Cody, who has Down's Syndrome.  Praline came right up to him and even licked his hand.  She knew he was special and needed her special attention.

Note from Mom Paula:  Praline has been an only cat and lived with only me since she was 12 weeks old.  In order to meet Praline, one must walk in the house calmly, put his/her hand out and let her sniff it.  If she turns her backside to you, she is saying you are okay and now you can pet her.  There are only a handful of my friends that she actually jumps up beside for cuddling and even a smaller number that she has licked on their hand.  If she sniffs your hand and walks away, you'll never be part of her world.  She has done that with several people and no matter what they tried, she would have nothing to do with them, ever!  I think Mercury has Praline described perfectly.

Last spring, I signed up to have my horoscope done by Karen, mom of The Monkeys.  Soon after I received my reading, I got really sick last year and then mom hurt her shoulder and it's been downhill since then.  I finally convinced Mom it was time to share my reading.  I hope you enjoy this week.  Mom has highlighted sections she believes are truly me!  What do you think?

Photo Hunt - Sweet

This is a purrfect theme for me since my first name is Sweet!  Uh oh!  Mom just reminded me that my full name is Miss Paula's Sweet Praline!

I thought I would use a "recycled" picture that the ZH, Ann did for me when I first joined the CB.  It's me lying on top of praline candy, which is one of my mom's favorites.  It is also very sweet!

Finally Friday

Okay, Mom!  I guess you can show everyone my hurtie on beside my nose.  We tried to get a picture that was clearer, but one of my eyes keeps having the laser effect!  If you biggify my picture, you can see my ouchie!  I don't think it looks too bad and yucky, but if you have a queasy tummy, you may not want to look too close.  As you can see, I am definitely talking back to my mom.

We got the results back from the biopsy yesterday.  The vet said it was a Mast Cell Tumor, but it was benign.  I have to go back to her next week to get the two stitches out and I have to be sedated again.  Mom asked why the sedation to remove the stitches and she said that the stitches were so close to the eye and that the scissors were very sharp and one sudden move from me could cause them to go into my beautiful eyes.  Mom said, "okay, sedation it is!"

The Internet is a dangerous thing because mom has googled "Mast Cell Tumor" and she sure is glad that the vet said mine was benign.

Not That Side, Mom!

Mom keeps trying to get a picture of the side of my face where I had the surgery and I won't let her!  I decided to give her the raspberry instead!

Thank you for all of the well wishes.  So far, I am doing well.  I'm eating and talking back to mom as usual.  It's back to the vet next week to get out the stitches.  Mom had to have another shot in her arm yesterday, so she was hurty today.

Wordless Wednesday

Home From Surgery

I'm home!  I have a couple of stitches beside my nose and the vet had to give me a sani-clip because I got a little upset at the vet's office and messed on myself.  I heard my mom when she got to the vet's office and I was ready to go home.  In fact, when the vet technician came back to my cage and asked if I was ready to go home (with  my carrier door open), I literally leaped from the cage to my PTU.  That made everybody laugh because I was in the second level of cages and they heard me hit the PTU with a thud!  I fussed at my mom all the way home.  I have to go back next Thursday to get my stitches out and they have to tranquilize me to do that.  Thank you so much for your purrs.

Mom Paula:  My Sweet Praline, you are beautiful to me!  Thank you to all of the kitty moms and dads out there for understanding my stress and the kind words.

Surgery

Update:  Praline is out of surgery and is doing fine.  I am on my way to pick her to take her home before I go to my Physical Therapy and Orthopedic Surgeon appointments.  Will post more later!

Mom Paula:  I just left Praline at the vet.  One of the little, resident rescue kitties in the vet's office jumped on top of Praline's PTU and growled and hissed at Sweet Praline.  Of course, Praline hissed back!

Monday, Monday

Mondays!  What can you say about a Monday?  Mom has to go to her day hunting job to earn green papers to keep me in the lifestyle I deserve!  However, it also means that she's gone all day long and I'm by myself.  That could also be a good thing because it means that I can sleep all day if I want to.  Thank you for all of the well wishes and purrs for my surgery tomorrow.  Mom says thank you for the comforting words when she was feeling guilty yesterday.

Easy Like Sunday

I think I'll try to take it really easy today so I don't think about my upcoming surgery on Tuesday.

Mom is feeling really guilty because she has been looking back at some of my pictures since February and my white bump has been there all along.  She says the honestly thought it was something on the camera lens. 

Photo Hunt - Fresh

Today's Photo Hunt theme is "fresh".  The only thing that was fresh in my house was the grass that mom planted for me.  Unfortunately, I didn't like it at all, but at least mom tried.

Vet Visit

Yesterday, I went to the vet for her to check on the white bump beside my nose.  Dr. Susan thinks it is just a cyst, but that it needs to be removed because of it's location.  She said as it grows bigger it could cause problems with breathing because of my flat face and also that the surgery would be closer to my eye and could also be more damaging to my beautiful little face.  Dr. Susan doesn't think it's cancerous, but she will have it checked to be on the safe side.  Unfortunately, it's going to cost a lost of green papers, but Mom says she'll find a way to take care of me.

What am I doing behind bars?  I didn't do anything wrong.

The rest of my news from the vet visit is good.  I've gained back the weight since my illness last year.  I weigh 7 pounds 10 ounces.  My heart sounded good and the vet said I was in great health.  She said there was some tarter on my back teeth, but that she would clean those while I was under anethesia next week.

I love this particular examining room.  I can jump up on the bench and look out the windows and feel like a queen of the vet's office.  Don't get me wrong, I still don't like this place, but you have to make something good out of something bad.

Okay, enough of this.  I'm ready to go back home.  Let me back in!

More Treats Please

2nd UPDATE:  Praline needs surgery.  The vet thinks it is just a cyst and not cancerous.  However, the cyst will get bigger and because of the location, it could effect her breathing, the vet wants to remove it while it is small and it won't involve major surgery.  Her surgery is scheduled for Tuesday morning and will cost over $400 because of the delicate location.  Keep those purrs coming.

UPDATE:  Taking Praline to the vet this morning.  That little white dot beside her nose is a bump, which is something new.  I'll update you when I get back.

Mom works at her home computer a lot when she gets home at night.  She trained (tricked) me into coming back here with her at night by keeping a bag of treats on the computer table.  Now, at night, when she gets home, I rush back to the home office before she can get there because I know I can get some treats!

So, in the words of Oliver Twist - "More Treats, Please!"

Thankful Thursday (oops! Wednesday!)

Mom's home!  She didn't get home until late last night, but I got lots of cuddles, belleh rubs, chin scritches, and treats.

Mom!  Don't leave me again any time soon, okay?

Oops!  I guess I am so happy that Mom is home, that I thought it was Thankful Thursday!

Tummy and Toesie Tuesday

I'm warming up my toesies and tummy for mom's return today!  My grandma bean came by and gave me treats yesterday and this morning.  She's on her way to the doctor's office this morning.

Easy Like Sunday

I think I'm going to take it easy this Sunday morning by resting in the clothes basket.  All of mom's smells are in here, so maybe I won't miss her so much.  Have a great Sunday.
